Sadie Ann Dorton, 37, of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2023, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She was known for her vibrant personality, being a social butterfly who touched the lives of many. Born on September 21, 1986, in Pikeville, Kentucky, Sadie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Sadie had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was dedicated to her personal growth. She had recently enrolled in a billing and coding program and was excited about the possibilities it held for her future. Sadie's determination to better herself resonated with those around her and inspired them as well.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Sadie found joy in various hobbies. She loved immersing herself in books, spending quality time with her family, enjoying television shows that transported her to different worlds, recording her thoughts in her journal, and exploring the wonders of nature through hiking.
In addition to her father, Perry Collins, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Zadie Coleman and one cousin Daniel Mitchell Wyatt.
Surviving Sadie is her beloved husband Jimmy Dewayne "Red" Dorton and their six sons: Mathew David, Chandler Nathaniel Dewayne, Patrick Blake, Brady Cage, Perry Dean Jagger, and Cooper Joe Dorton — all from Mt. Sterling. Sadie is also survived by her mother Carlene Cortez; two brothers: Matthew Brian Wyatt (Brandi Michelle) of Salt Lick, Kentucky; Andrew Willis Wyatt; two sisters: Nicole Almaraz (Armando) of Mt. Sterling; Mary Hackney (David) of Pikeville; as well as her father-in-law Grover Dean Sexton of Mt. Sterling along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friend Hannah Thornberry.
Visitation will be held on September 28, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home on 89 Slate Ave in Owingsville, KY. A funeral service in honor of Sadie's life will take place on September 29, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM at the same location. Following the funeral service, a graveside service will be held at Machpelah Cemetery on 600 E Locust St in Mt Sterling.
Due to Sadie's unexpected death. The family ask that in place of flowers, contributions be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
