Sarah Ruth Caudill-Rice, 23, of Owingsville, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident on KY 32 in Morehead.
She was born on April 17, 1993 in Winchester, Kentucky, a daughter of Elaine Webb Rice and Rev. Lowell Rice.
Sarah was a counselor for Hope Hill Youth Services.
She was a 2011 graduate of Bath County High School and a 2015 graduate of Morehead State University having received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Music. Her ultimate goal was to receive a Masters Degree in Music Therapy.
Sarah was a member of the Owingsville First Church of God and was active as a counselor at Camp Lyons Youth Camp. Where she loved to go as a camper for many years. In high school she was involved in band, volleyball and Jamie's Dance Studio.
She loved music and it played a major role in her life. She was offered two vocal scholarships from major universities, choosing Morehead State University to pursue her education. She enjoyed singing and playing the trumpet and French horn and was a former member of the MSU Black Gospel Ensemble,Concert Choir, Jazz Vocal Ensemble and Chamber Singers. She traveled extensively both here and abroad with the Morehead State University Choirs.
Sarah enjoyed traveling, spending time with her horse, Miracle and her Sheltie, Eloise and especially spending time with her family and friends, which was her passion.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Anna Ruth Oney Webb, who passed away on September 26, 2013.
Survivors include her parents, Elaine and Rev. Lowell Rice of Owingsville, maternal grandfather, Randall Webb of Olive Hill, paternal grandparents, Dewey Caudill, Sr. and Ruth Caudill of Mansfield, Ohio, two brothers, Caleb (Lisa) Forrester of Lexington and Joseph S. (Corrie) Rice of Richmond, one sister, Julia Rice-Stokes (David) of Richmond, Virginia, nieces and nephews, Ava Stokes, Isabelle Stokes, Sophia Stokes, Lillian Stokes, Holly Rice, Lucas Rice and Will Stotts and a host of close knit aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Owingsville First Church of God (320 Slate Avenue, Owingsville, KY 40360) with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating.
Burial will follow in the Burchett-Dailey Cemetery on Blueberry Ridge in Olive Hill.
Visitation is after 4:30 P.M. Tuesday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Keith Webb, Joseph Rice, Lucas Rice, Caleb Branham, Caleb Forrester and David Stokes.
