Shelia Rena Walters Shelton, 61, of Hope, Kentucky, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026. She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky on October 24, 1964. The daughter of Edwin Walters and the late Lillian Davis Walters. Shelia was a person whose outgoing spirit and warm heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shelia found profound joy in spending time with her grandchildren, cherishing every moment. Her friendships were many and dear, and she delighted in visits with friends that brightened her days. An avid gardener, she lovingly tended her flowers and garden, nurturing them with the same care and attention she gave to those she loved.
She leaves behind her father, Edwin Walters (Phyllis Little) of Palatka, Florida. Her daughter, Tiffany Holder Kincaid of Hope, KY, along with her two grandchildren, Brianna and Dylan Kincaid. Shelia’s siblings also remain by her side in remembrance and support: sisters Tammy King of Mt. Sterling and Fonda Ferguson (Larry) of Hope, Kentucky; brothers Fabian Walters of Hope and Timothy Walters (Tammy), of Palatka, Florida.
Her extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews, Shannon (Shane), Laura (Steven), Eddie, John, Brett, Hannah (Wesley), and Ryan (Chynah), along with great-nieces and nephews Victoria, Rumi, Rayegan, Jacob, Luke, Mason, Jude, Zayden, Stone, Gabe, Jax, and Brooks.
Shelia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lillian Davis Walters, whose memory she honored throughout her life.
The visitation will take place on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home located at 89 Slate Avenue, Owingsville, KY 40360. Following this, the funeral service will be held at the same location at 3:00 PM with Bro. Les Ingram officiating.
