Stella Ann Terry Carpenter, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at UK St. Claire Hospital in Morehead, Kentucky. She was born on August 1, 1947, in Bath County, Kentucky, to the late Thomas Terry and Rosa Fielders Terry.
Stella retired as a seamstress from Bath Manufacturing. Beyond her professional accomplishments, she found great joy in her hobbies, which included tending to her flowers, gardening, farming, and cooking. Her love for cooking was especially meaningful, as it provided her with opportunities to gather her family around the table, sharing not only meals but also laughter and memories.
Preceding her in death was her beloved husband, Billy Carpenter, her four brothers, Joseph Glenn Terry, James Thomas (Turkey Bill) Terry, Earl Benton (Cotton) Terry, and David Warren (Puckle) Terry, along with her two sisters, Evelyn Copher and Delcie Lee (Cooch) Pierce.
Stella took immense pride in her family, especially in her role as a grandmother. She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Carpenter and Carol Jones (Jay), both of Owingsville, and her two grandchildren, Jared Jones of Owingsville and Makayla Jones of Richmond, Kentucky. The bond she shared with them was a source of great joy in her life, and they will forever carry forward her spirit and love.
Stella's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her family and friends, but her legacy of kindness, hard work, and devotion to her loved ones will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
At the request of Stella herself, there will be no services at this time.
