Stephen Lewis Payne, 60, of Sharpsburg, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at his home. He was born on November 4, 1964, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky to the late Lewis Payne and Edith Helen Morrison Payne.
Steve was a self-employed carpenter and jack of all trades. His interests extended into the great outdoors; he was an avid fisherman and hunter, finding peace and fulfillment in nature. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing sports, showcasing his competitive spirit and love for active engagement. He also pursued a passion for collecting Indian artifacts, a hobby that reflected his appreciation for history and craftsmanship.
Survivors include, his daughter, Lacey Cline-Arriaga (Lorenzo) of Flemingsburg, his son, Anthony "Bunk" Lewis Wilson (DeAnna) of Sharpsburg, three grandchildren, Ethan and Eli Cline and Braxton Wilson, two brothers, Dwayne Butler of Mt. Sterling and Ricky Dale Butler and one sister, Alice May McCarty both of Fort Worth, Texas, three nieces, Deanna McCarty, Amanda Butler and Erica Butler and one nephew Jason Butler, four great nephews and three great nieces who will all miss him dearly.
There will no services at this time.
