Terry Logan Sorrell, aged 74, of Owingsville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, November 15, 2024 at his home. He was born on November 23, 1949, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. The son of Naomi Justine Whitton Sorrell and the late, Orville J. Sorrell. He dedicated himself to a fulfilling career as a janitor for the Bath County School Board for twenty-seven years, serving his community with pride and commitment.
Terry was not only known for his professional contributions but also cherished for his warm spirit and love of life. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, finding solace in nature, and relished the joy of cooking out with family and friends. Above all, he treasured the time spent with his grandchildren, who brought immense happiness to his life.
He is survived by his beloved mother, Naomi Justine Sorrell, and his loving wife, Jean Ann Richards Sorrell. He was a proud father to his son, Morgan Jay Sorrell (Ciarra) of Mt. Sterling, and a special father figure to Anna Rose Brosseit of Owingsville. Terry's legacy continues through his three cherished grandchildren, Emerie Claire Dodge, Asypn Ray Sorrell, and Saige Fraylyn Sorrell. Terry is also survived by several nieces and nephews who brought joy to his life: Michaela Estes (Dan) of Lexington, Kentucky, Nathan Estes (Mason) of Mt. Sterling, and April Lee Reed (Tommy) of Owingsville. Survivors also include his mother-in-law, Karen Lee Richards of Frenchburg, Kentucky, and his sisters-in-law, Pamela Estes of Mt. Sterling and Melissa K. Smith of Frenchburg. He is additionally survived by his brothers-in-law, Morgan Kelly Richards Jr. of Owingsville and Shawn Kelly Richards of Frenchburg. Terry also leaves behind his precious pets.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Bro. Gary Henderson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Pallbearers include Morgan Jay Sorrell, Randy Coyle, Nathan Estes, Tyler Riddell, Shaun Bashford and Mason DeVreugd.
Honorary Pallbearers include Michaela Estes, Matthew Hagan, McKenzie Robinson, Paul Sexton, Eddie Griffen, Ronnie Beadle and Bryson Robinson.
