Obituary:
Thomas "Junebug" Ray Butcher Jr., 42, known for his funny and outgoing personality, passed away on March 22, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, Kentucky. He was born on November 23, 1981, in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
Thomas proudly served in the National Guard 201st Engineer Battalion Bravo Company. during the War in Afghanistan. His dedication to his country was admirable and will always be remembered.
Beyond his military service, Thomas had a passion for fishing and cherished moments spent with his family. His sense of humor and intelligence brought joy to all who knew him.
Thomas was predeceased by his father, Tommy Ray Butcher, and grandparents Barbara Ellen Butcher, Johnny A Butcher, and Palmer “Jaybird” Crouch.
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family and friends, including his mother, Mary Butcher; daughter, Kaylee Butcher; son, Thomas Ray Butcher III; sister, Sherry Denton; maternal grandmother, Estill Crouch; niece, Karley Denton; nephew, Will Shanks; great-niece, Elara Jane Frei; as well as his beloved cats, Sushi and Tuna. Additionally, he is survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins who held a special place in his heart.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be held on Saturday, April 20th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Owingsville Cemetery with full military honors performed by American Legion Post 22.
