Willie Edgar Smith, 63, of Olympia, Kentucky passed away suddenly Thursday morning June 18, 2020 at his home.
He was born on February 8, 1957 in Pinsonfork, Kentucky to Ona Church Smith and the late Willie T. Smith.
WIllie enjoyed fishing and attending bass tournaments, working on cars and enjoyed all the races. He was known to help others with almost any project, whether it was autobody work or carpentry work. He also loved to coon hunt all hours of the night.
Including his father he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby D. Smith and Johnny P. Smith, two sisters, Thelma Jean Smith and Gay Chapman.
Survivors include his mother Ona Church Smith Chapman (Ronald) of Indian Mound, TN, four daughters, Melissa Smith of Charleston, WV, Peggy Hackney of Belfry, KY, Elizabeth Smith and Martha "Rebecca" May Smith both of Olympia, six brothers, Frank Smith (Mary) of Salt LIck, KY, Jeff Smith (Sandy) of Florida, Thomas James Smith (Mary) of South Carolina, Larry D. Smith of Indian Mound, TN, David Smith (Izzy) of Owingsville and Randy K. Smith (Serena) of Morehead, two sisters Sarah Belle Smith of Portsmouth, OH and Beatrice Marie Smith of Michigan, six grandchildren, Gaige M. Ray Patience Hazel Ray, Joshua A. Ray Alexus N. Ray, Jordan Hackney and Natasha Hackney, two great grandchildren Brayden Carter Browning and Kyson M. Ray. Survivors also include several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Sunday in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Pastor Randy Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Dickerson Cemetery in Salt Lick.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be from 11:00 A.M. till the time of the service Sunday.
Pallbearers will include Gaige Ray, Joshua Ray, David Smith, D.J. Smith, Jordan Hackney and Larry Smith.
The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Willie Edgar Smith.
