Dorothy Hunt

December 2, 1943 — April 2, 2021

Owingsville

Dorothy Louise Bancroft Hunt was born on December 2, 1943 in Rosebud, Illinois to Leona Chloe Davis Bancroft and William Bancroft. Later she moved to Marion, Indiana and it was there that a Kentucky boy named Bud stole her heart. They were married on June 29, 1962. They had two children Kim Hunt Price and Charles Keith Hunt.

Dottie and Bud worked together operating their farms, rental property and restaurant Bud's Buster Burger. She was also a beautician and operated Dottie's Beauty Shop. In later years she was a bookkeeper at Kim's office. Without a doubt her favorite job was babysitting her grandchildren.

Dottie had a strong faith in God and loved to help others. Daily, she served as a living example of a Christian life. She was a nurturing wife, mother  and granny. She was a member of the Grace Gospel Tabernacle for over 55 years where she served as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer and secretary. She was a 4-H leader and a member of the Slate Valley Homemakers Club.

She enjoyed reading, crafting, traveling and participating in all her family's activities.

On Good Friday, April 2 , 2021 after a beautiful sunset, Dottie left the struggles of this world and met her Saviour Jesus Christ and lifted her arms to hold her son Keith again.

Dottie is survived by her loving husband Charles "Bud" Hunt; her daughter Kim Hunt Price and her husband Buck, Grandchildren, Bryson Keith Price, Charles Hayden Price and Sarah RayAnna Price all of Owingsville. Along with several nieces, nephews, her church family, caregivers and a host of friends.
