Lucille Stewart Garner, 99 of Owingsville, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 7, 2020 at the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville.

She was born in Bath County the daughter of the late James and Ann Crump Stewart.

Lucille was a homemaker who possessed a deep faith and gained much perseverance in life through Christ. She was the epitome of the God and family way of life. She not only took wonderful care of her husband, children, grandchildren and home but she worked in the fields raising and caring for crops and gardens most of her life.  Lucille lived a simple and quiet existence on her farm in the East Fork community.  Everyone she met became a friend and her family was greatly blessed by her devout love and affection for them.  She was very proud of her family and they brought her so much joy.  Her life was largely devoted to their well being.

She was an amazing cook who prepared countless meals for family, neighbors and workhands over the years.  Her soft, gentle and easy going disposition was inviting to all who knew her and will remain a vivid memory to all who loved and spent time with her.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Seigle Garner, her daughter Virginia "Ginny" Garner Goodpaster, one infant daughter, Mildred Ann Garner, one granddaughter, Gina Goodpaster Rogers, two brothers Clemmie Stewart and Bob Stewart, two sisters, Mamie Reid and Lena Turner and her son in law, Woody Bailey Jr.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Garner (Debbie) of Mt. Washington and Nelson Garner (Nancye) of Owingsville, one daughter, Donna Bailey of Owingsville, five grandchildren, Robert Alan Garner, Angie Johnson, Tina Everman, Tonya Bailey and Ashley Wilson, sixteen great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, a sister-in-law Margaret Helen Stewart of Owingsville, special niece, Lena "Cricket" Henderson of Peasticks and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be conducted Saturday, May 9, 2020 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Billy Harmon officiating.

Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.

Pallbearers include Robert Alan Garner, Burnsy Stewart, Phil Hammack, Randall Ferguson, Bob Henderson, Buster Turner, Eddie Goodpaster and John Bradley.

The family wants to recognize her care team at the Ridgeway Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Owingsville. They became Lucille's family as well and their love and dedication to her will never be forgotten.

The Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville is caring for all the arrangements for Lucille Stewart Garner.
