Mary Jo Clark, 84, of Morehead, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her home.
She was born on November 12, 1936 in Rowan County, Kentucky to the late James M. Carpenter and Melvie Cogswell Carpenter.
Mary and her husband Albert of 59 years owned and operated a Pasquale's in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. Mary was a faithful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who could light up any room she entered. She attended the Midland First Church of God where she stood solid on her faith. She also enjoyed speed walking and even participated in the Senior Olympic Games in the speed walking division.
In addition to her husband, survivors include her two daughters; Sandra Jo Clark of Morehead and Rhonda Gail Washing (Scott) of Newburg, IN, two grandchildren; Daniel Washing and Allie Washing, one brother, James M. Carpenter (Nancy) of Alexander, IN, three sisters; Jem Carpenter of Midland, KY, Martha Clifton of Anderson, IN and Joyce Gaskill (Fred) of Pendleton, IN and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Midland First Church of God in Midland, KY with Pastor Bush Stevenson officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Alfrey Cemetery.
Visitation at the Midland First Church of God will be after 12 noon Saturday.
