Roy Ginter

Roy Vernon Ginter, 75, of Preston, Kentucky passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at his home surrounded by his beloved family.

He was born on June 7, 1945 in Bath County, Kentucky to the late Shrepty Jane Ginter.

Roy Vernon was a lifelong farmer, whose greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He enjoyed trading guns, collecting knives, arrowheads and watching his westerns while eating his favorite ice cream. Roy Vernon was a regular at the Blevins Grocery in Preston, you would often find him on the front porch whittling.

Survivors include his devoted wife Mildred "Millie" Ginter, two daughters; Verna Denise Carpenter and Deanna Cheryl Holbert both of Preston and one son, Roy Dawayne Ginter “Roy Boy”of Franklin, Ohio, five grandchildren; Royia Varandi Manley, Chanda Denise Mitchell, Hunter Dawayne Holbert, Callie Paige Orme and Andrea "Andi" Logan Ginter, four great grandchildren; Hannon Gibson "Gibby" Manley, Gracelynn Belle Orme, Brody Wayne "Smiley" Holbert and Ella Mae Orme.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Chris Bailey officiating.

Burial will follow in the Ginter Memorial Family Cemetery in Preston.

Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville will be 6 - 9 PM Friday.

Pallbearers include; Roy Dawayne Ginter, Hunter Holbert, Matt Manley, Bedford “Boo” Carpenter, Danny Ginter and Tim Lyons.

Honorary Pallbearers include; Mitchell Miller, Doug Hatton, John Barry Staton, Joell Orme, Mike Butcher, Josh Mitchell and Rube Blevins.
